Report: Austin Aries' IMPACT Wrestling Contract Allegedly Expired After Bound For Glory

Austin Aries' walk out at Bound For Glory is starting to make more sense.

Petey Williams, who served as the agent for the Bound For Glory main event between Aries and Johnny Impact, took fans behind the scenes on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast and revealed that Aries' contract with IMPACT Wrestling expired on Sunday.

“Austin Aries’ contract is done. That’s all I’ll say. That match was his last match under contract with Impact.”

Williams described Aries' demeanor as "fine" throughout the day and said that Aries wasn't upset with the finish, which had him losing the IMPACT World Title to Johnny Impact. Williams said that he wasn't upset with Aries' attitude after the match and that Johnny Impact thought nothing of the incident. Williams said that he asked Aries after the match, "What's next? He said, 'Today was the last day of my contract. I'm not going to be at the TVs.'" Williams said that was the last time he spoke to Aries. Williams reiterated multiple times that Aries is "not with the company anymore. His contract is up" and that IMPACT Wrestling will move forward.

When asked if the Aries incident was bad for IMPACT or put a dark cloud on the show, Williams said, "people are talking."

Following his loss to Impact, Aries immediately got up, spit at Impact, and flipped off Don Callis and the fans before walking out.

Earlier today, it was reported that Aries went home and would not be at the television tapings on Monday and Tuesday. Williams confirmed that Aries was not at the building for Monday's set of tapings.
