Report: Brian 'Road Dogg' James Named The New Co-Lead Writer Of WWE SmackDown

A new report has named a WWE Hall of Famer as the new co-Lead Writer of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Brian "Road Dogg" James is now the new Co-Lead Writer of WWE SmackDown, joining John Swikata in the role.

Road Dogg spent several years working behind the scenes at WWE. This is not his first time as a SmackDown head writer; he previously held the position before WrestleMania 35 in 2019. He later spent several years working with the NXT roster. WWE briefly dismissed him in January 2022, but he returned in August of the same year as Senior Vice President of Live Events.

Road Dogg is a former WWE Tag Team Champion and WWE Intercontinental Champion. The New Age Outlaws member was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of D-Generation X in 2019
