Report: GCW And WrestleCon Don't Have Cancelation Insurance On Events

The wrestling world currently waits for a decision from WWE or Tampa regarding the future of WrestleMania 36. And perhaps no one is waiting more than GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale and WrestleCon promoter Michael Bochicchio.

According to a report from David Bixenspan at VICE, neither Lauderdale nor Bochicchio have cancellation insurance on their events.

WrestleCon and GCW both put out statements this week saying their shows would continue as planned and it could remain that way, regardless of what happens with WrestleMania. Should the government shut down mass gatherings, force majeure provisions in contracts would be triggered, allowing for refunds for promoters.

This falls in line with what Fightful's Jimmy Van said on this week's List & Ya Boy when discussing why promoters have not canceled shows You can find Jimmy's full comments by clicking here.

“I’m not kidding, if this is a full cancellation, I’ll likely sell my house,” Bochicchio told VICE. “You can put it on the record, it’s true.”

WrestleCon addressed questions over the status of the convention in a recent video, which you can view by clicking here
