Report: 'Good Will Hunting' Director Gus Van Sant Tapped To Direct 'Killing Gawker' Hulk Hogan Film

More news have surfaced regarding the Hulk Hogan 'Killing Gawker' movie.

On Monday, August 5, Jeff Sneider published a report stating that Gus Van Sant will be the director of the upcoming 'Killing Gawker' movie. The film will focus on the lawsuit that Hulk Hogan filed against Gawker for the release of his sex tape.

As first reported by PWInsider, the film will feature Ben Affleck as Hulk Hogan and Matt Damon as Peter Thiel. The script, penned by Charles Randolph, will be based on the book 'Conspiracy: Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker, and the Anatomy of Intrigue'.

Van Sant is mostly known for directing the 1997 film 'Good Will Hunting'. That movie also starred Affleck and Damon along with Robin Williams, Stellan Skarsgard, Casey Affleck, and Minnie Driver. Along with the film's eight other nominations, Van Sant was nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards in 1998.

Throughout his career, Van Sant has also directed projects like 'My Own Private Idaho', 'Drugstore Cowboy', and 'Elephant'.
