Kenny Omega Returning Soon To AEW

Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that when he had spoken to Kenny about his injury, Kenny noted that he was having trouble lifting weights even though he believed he could lift the bar and, in true pro-wrestler fashion, Kenny has said that he can work a match without his shoulders if need be.

"I don't know if he has no strength. but he can't lift heavy weights with them -- I don't even know if he can lift with them. The last time we were talking about it, he said he was able to lift the bar. So it's 45 pounds... He's told me, 'I can work a match without my shoulders,'" said Dave

In a new video where Kenny is undergoing a chiropractic adjustment by Dr. Beau Hightower, he reveals that he has had to train himself to wrestle in a spinning ring due to bouts of vertigo he's faced since 2018.

“Yeah, it's been an issue since 2018. I just get really bad vertigo. I get dizzy in the ring. I can't — the room spins. It's been a new skill I've had to inherit is wrestling in a spinning ring. So to make sure I get that straightened out as much as I can, as often as I can is really paramount for my performances."

He added, “Yeah, there's a myriad of issues with professional wrestling and you can work as safely as you can, But you can't avoid everything. There's always something that could go wrong.”

Later in the video, as the adjustment starts to come to an end, Kenny remarks that he has a better range of motion in his neck and notes that he's actually able to do side straight arm raises following the adjustment instead of his recent method of deviating to raising his arm at an angle to avoid feeling pain because of his shoulder injury.

“Yeah, I mean, one thing that I can say is I have a lot of difficulty just doing a straight side [arm] raise because of my shoulder injury. I would have to really sort of deviate to [a diagonal raise] to do anything. So to be able to go perfectly sideways is great. That was great. Yeah, my range of motion for looking is great. My neck is feeling good.”
