Report: Road Dogg Now Working Full-Time With NXT

According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, Brian "Road Dogg" James is now working full-time with NXT. His official role has not yet been confirmed but Johnson reports that he began working at the WWE Performance Center recently.

On Apr. 11, 2019, PWInsider reported that Road Dogg had stepped down from his position as lead writer on WWE SmackDown. James reportedly grew "increasingly frustrated" with the changes made to the SmackDown script by Vince McMahon and reportedly "hit a breaking point" at the SmackDown in Brooklyn following WrestleMania 35. James had been heading up the SmackDown brand with Stephen Guerrieri (aka Steve G.) with James going on the road with the brand while Guerrieri would stay in Stamford, CT, working out of WWE Headquarters.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that James would remain with the company as a "utility player" until a more permanent role was found.

James made a cameo during the WWE Performance Center combine, which aired on the WWE Network on Sunday afternoon.

James' running mates in D-Generation X play a big role in NXT as Triple H is the founder and senior producer of the brand while Shawn Michaels is one of the coaches and producers.
