Injured stars are backstage at SmackDown.
According to reports from PWInsider, both Sheamus and Elias are backstage in Birmingham, Alabama for the 11/29 SmackDown. Both stars have been on the injured list for several months.
For Elias, he's been out with an ankle injury since September. His last scheduled match was to be a King Of The Ring Tournament semi-final against Chad "Shorty" Gable, but he'd be replaced by Shane McMahon. The report notes that it is not clear whether or not he's in attendance at the event to be medically evaluated or if there are further plans for him at this time.
Regarding Sheamus, he has been suffering from spinal stenosis. He hasn't been utilized since the SmackDown after WrestleMania, when The New Day wrestled The Bar and Drew McIntyre in six-man tag action.
Sheamus has kept busy with his Celtic Warrior Workouts YouTube channel and was also involved in the filming of "The Main Event," a collaboration between WWE and Netflix.
As of this writing, neither man has an official brand placement following the brand re-configuration in early October 2019 with the WWE Draft following SmackDown's move to the Fox Network.
Neither report is a guarantee that either man will appear on television.
