Vince McMahon reportedly has a big price tag for WWE.
Lucas Shaw of Bloomberg reports that Vince McMahon is looking to get as much as $9 billion in a potential sale of WWE.
WWE has a current market value of about $6.5 billion.
Endeavor, who also owns UFC, and investors from the Middle East are listed as potential suitors for WWE. The report states, "Larger strategic buyers, such as Netflix Inc. and Walt Disney Co., may be uneasy taking on a business controlled by McMahon that involves the sometimes messy personal lives of its wrestlers."
WWE is currently engaged with outside advisors to review strategic alternatives in relation to upcoming media rights negotiations. One strategic alternative is a potential sale of the company, which would happen before media rights deals for WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown are locked in. Nick Khan recently stated that a sale could happen quickly, possibly within the next three months.
Vince McMahon, who retired in July 2022, returned to WWE as a member of the board on January 6, claiming he needed to present for media rights negotiations as the founder and controlling shareholder.
Fightful will continue to update fans on a potential sale as more is known.
