Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that WWE officials are planning to announce a women’s Money in the Bank match for next month’s event.
This would be the first of its kind, joining other recent female firsts, like the first ever women's Hell in a Cell match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair in October of last year--which was also the first ever women's match to main event a PPV. Then we had the first ever women's Tables Match at TLC in December, which saw Alexa Bliss defeat Becky Lynch.
There is no word on when the announcement will come, or who the participants would be, but there are, at present, only six active women on the SmackDown roster, and that number includes current champ Naomi. Presumably the champion would not be in the MITB ladder match.
The Money In The Bank PPV is on June 18 in St. Louis, Missouri.,
