Report: WWE Has Rolled Over Matt And Jeff Hardy's Existing Contracts For One More Year

Per report, Matt and Jeff Hardy will be a part of WWE for one more year.

The former 8-time WWE Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz reunited on tonight's edition of SmackDown Live and picked up a win over Sheamus and Cesaro. Matt Hardy has publicly stated on social media that his WWE contract was coming to an end and Jeff's contract was nearing its end as well. PWInsider has provided an update on both Matt and Jeff's contracts and noted that WWE has invoked a clause in Matt and Jeff's contracts which rolls their deals over for another year. If WWE had not done so, both of their contracts would have expired in March.

The Hardy Boyz made their returns to WWE at WrestleMania 33 and won the RAW Tag Team Championships and signed two year deals with the sports-entertainment company afterwards.

In September of 2018, Matt Hardy wrestled what he described as "possibly his last match in WWE" at a house show in Texas. Hardy released a video after his match and teased that he was retiring so that he can be with his family on a full-time basis.

Matt Hardy was not the only return on tonight's edition of SmackDown as former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens made his return as well. To hear some thoughts and opinions about KO's return, head over to the Fightful Pro Wrestling YouTube channel for our post-SmackDown review podcast.
