WOH Review: Tenille Dashwood vs. Stacy Shadows Tournament Match

I thought that these pre-match promos were cheesy, particularly Stacy's, but Shadows did a really good job establishing Tenille's (formerly Emma) finish before an entrance even happened. I can't express how important that is for a new viewer or for someone who isn't familar with Tenille's work.

Deonna Purrazzo puts over Shadows right out of the gate on commentary for being intimidating.

Tony Khan: Private Party Winning AEW Tag Team Titles Was Over Five Years In The Making

It feels different seeing Tenille with a different sense of production, but her work seems crisp. I've noticed her chin is always straight up in the air when she's on offense, which is something I don't see a lot of in wrestling, and less in MMA. She gets splattered with a big spinebuster, but Shadows misses a Vader Bomb.

Dashwood busts out the Tarantula and does a nice kick that sees her flip her body over the second rope. Dashwood connects with a flying cross body press and later connects with Spotlight the Difference for the win. The new finish is a running low dropkick to the side of her opponent's head, usually when they're kneeling. After the match, Shadows returns and offers a handshake to Dashwood, who accepts it.

Dashwood moves on in the tournament, and faces Brandi Rhodes on the ROH 16th Anniversary pre-show

Match Rating: 5.25/10
