We are on the last major stop before the biggest event of the year; WrestleMania and it happens to be a Smackdown Live event where AJ Styles will defend his WWE Championship in a Six Pack Challenge when he takes on, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, John Cena and Baron Corbin. We also have The Usos defending their WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Championship against New Day, Charlotte defends her WWE Smackdown! Women's Championship against Ruby Riott and much more so be sure to come back here at 8PM for all of the action and stick around after the show for the post show podcast!
Kickoff Show
-We get various video packages before we have a selfie promo by Baron Corbin. Next we get a video package for The Usos and New Day ahead of their WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship match later tonight, then Jinder Mahal is interviewed by the panel and goes on a rant about how no one respects him. We then have Dolph interviewed via satellite where he talks about the Six Pack Challenge later tonight.
Tye Dillinger & Breezango vs Chad Gable, Shelton Benjamin & Mojo Rawley
Chad starts the match off with Tyler, Chad tossing him back into his corner before Fandango tags in and Chad immediately takes him down. Tyler tags back in and hits a series of dropkicks before they clear the ring. Chad gets back in the ring and hits a huge monkey flip to Tyler as we go to commercial.
Shelton is in control of Tyler as we come back from commercial, focusing on his left arm before he and Chad start tagging in and out and keeping Tyler in their half of the ring. Mojo tags in and beats Tyler down until Tyler hits an enzuigiri and tags tye in. Tye drops Chad repeatedly before Chad gets a near fall off of a roll up and Tye superkicks Mojo before hitting the Tye Breaker for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tye Dillinger & Breezango defeat Chad Gable, Shelton Benjamin & Mojo Rawley via pinfall when Tye hits the Tye Breaker to Mojo.
Main Show
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Rusev
They grapple to start the match before Rusev takes control and starts focusing on the arm of Shinsuke until Rusev backs Shinsuke into the ropes for a not so clean break. Shinsuke tells Rusev to bring it, but Rusev rolls out of the ring instead and regroups with Aiden. Rusev gets back in the ring momentarily before rolling back out of the ring only for Shinsuke to go after him and hit a series of knee strikes. Shinsuke rolls Rusev back into the ring, but gets distracted by Aiden before Rusev sends him off of the apron and to the floor, Rusev then tossing Shinsuke into the barricade and apron repeatedly. They get back in the ring and Rusev gets a quick two count before Shinsuke fights out of a rear headlock and counters into a heel hook.
Rusev gets to the bottom rope for the break before hitting a spinning uranage for a quick two count, then Rusev hits a series of running elbow drops before putting Shinsuke in a rear chin lock that he powers out of. Shinsuke hits a leg lariat and a series of kicks before hitting his signature knees in the corner for a near fall. Rusev comes back with a fall away slam before dropping Shinsuke with a roundhouse kick for a very close near fall. They exchange kicks and knees until Rusev rolls Shinsuke up for a near fall, then goes for the Accolade, but Shinsuke counters into a roll up for a near fall of his own. Shinsuke then goes for the Kinshasa, but Rusev superkicks him for a very close near fall, then Shinsuke counters the Accolade into two Kinshasa for the pin and the win.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Rusev via pinfall with two Kinshasa.
WWE United States Championship Match
Bobby Roode (c) vs Randy Orton
They go back and forth to start the match until Roode drops Randy with a shoulder block and plays to the crowd. Randy comes back with a back elbow before teasing an RKO, but Roode is quick to roll out of the ring before he gets back in the ring and Roode teases his own finisher. Randy rolls out of the ring just like Roode did before getting back in the ring and the two locking up before Randy drops Roode over the top rope for a quick two count. Roode comes back with a series of clotheslines before hitting a diving clothesline off of the top and playing to the crowd. Randy counters the Glorious DDT into a roll up for a near fall before hitting a powerslam.
Roode hits a blockbuster off of the second turnbuckle for a quick two count before Randy hits his signature draping DDT, then they counter each others finishers before Roode sends Randy out of the ring. Randy whips Roode into the barricade before dropping him onto it and rolling him back into the ring for a near fall. Roode hits a powerbomb for a near fall before Randy catches him up top and hits a superplex for a near fall, then they exchange strikes before countering each other's finishers. Roode then hits a spinebuster before Randy hits an RKO out of nowhere when Roode comes off of the top for the pin and the win.
Winner: Randy Orton defeats Bobby Roode via pinfall with an RKO to become the WWE United States champion.
-After the match Jinder comes out and attacks Randy before Roode hits both of them with a Glorious DDT as we go to commercial.
Naomi & Becky Lynch vs Natalya & Carmella
Becky and Carmella start the match off before Carmella backs Becky into her corner and tags Natalya in only for Becky to do the same with Natalya and tags Naomi in. Naomi is in control of Natalya until she misses a running splash in the corner and gets distracted by Carmella allowing Natalya to hit a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Natalya and Carmella start tagging in and out and keeping Naomi isolated from her corner until she finally tags Becky in. Becky hits an exploder suplex, then Naomi gets the blind tag and hits a roundhouse kick before tagging Becky back in, Becky hitting a diving leg drop for a near fall that Natalya breaks up. Carmella then hits a frankensteiner for a near fall that Naomi breaks up before Carmella hits Becky with a superkick for the pin and the win.
Winner: Natalya & Carmella defeat Becky Lynch & Naomi via pinfall when Carmella hits Becky with a superkick.
WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Championship Match
The Usos (c) vs New Day
Xavier starts the match off with Jimmy before Jey gets the blind tag they start tagging in and out and beating on Xavier in their corner. Xavier fights his way out of a headlock before tagging Kofi in and Kofi drops the Usos repeatedly with a series of dropkicks into a leg drop before playing to the crowd. Kofi takes out both brothers before sending the legal man Jimmy out of the ring, then Jimmy hits a pop-up Samoan drop to Xavier before hitting a leg to Kofi before playing to the crowd. They counter each other before the Usos hit Kofi with the Midnight Hour for a very close near fall. Xavier gets the tag and a superkick party ensues before New Day use the Usos finisher against them for a very close near fall.
The Usos then hit double topes to the outside before the Bludgeon Brothers come out to the ring and kill everyone for the disqualification.
Winner: No Contest due to interference by the Bludgeon Brothers.
WWE Smackdown Women's Championship Match
Charlotte (c) vs Ruby Riott
Ruby immediately teases a Riott Kick before they exchange wrist locks, then they get out of the ring and Charlotte sends Ruby into the barricade repeatedly as we see the Riott Squad at ringside. Ruby hits the Riott Kick out of nowhere for a near fall before tossing Charlotte out of the ring and Naomi and Becky coming down to even the odds and keeping the Riott Squad from interfering. Ruby beats Charlotte down before Charlotte comes back with a slingshot suplex, then Ruby hits a reverse senton for a quick two count off of the top. Charlotte fights out of a straitjacket submission before Ruby hits a flat liner, then goes for another senton, but Charlotte gets her knees up before hitting a neckbreaker. Ruby sends Charlotte off of the top and to the floor before Charlotte hits a fall away slam into the barricade.
Charlotte hits a moonsault off of the barricade before rolling Ruby back into the ring for a near fall, then Charlotte drops Ruby with a jumping knee. Ruby hits a frankensteiner for a near fall before they exchange strikes until Ruby sends Charlotte face first into the ring post. The referee ejects Becky and Naomi and the Riott Squad before Charlotte hits a flurry of offense and goes for the Figure Eight, but Ruby counters, then Charlotte whips Ruby into the top turnbuckle before Charlotte spears her. Charlotte then locks in the figure four before bridging into the Figure Eight for the tap and the win.
Winner: Charlotte defeats Ruby Riott via submission with the Figure Eight to retain her WWE Smackdown Women's champion.
-After the match Asuka comes out and challenges Charlotte to a title match at WrestleMania.
WWE Championship Six Pack Challenge Match
John Cena immediately hits everyone with an AA excluding AJ Styles, clearing the ring except for them before Cena drops AJ with a shoulder block. They exchange strikes until everyone gets in the ring and attacks John before dumping him out of the ring. Everyone brawls at ringside before AJ and Baron get back in the ring and Corbin gets a near fall off of a roll up. AJ hits a move to everyone excluding Cena once they get in the ring before everyone excluding AJ who's been tossed out of the ring hit a move for a near fall that AJ breaks up. AJ exchanges strikes with Kevin until AJ hits a Pele kick and teases a Styles Clash only to be sent out of the ring. Everyone excluding AJ hits a move again before Cena hits a double five knuckle shuffle before Dolph counters an AA into a famouser for a near fall.
Cena counters a superkick into an STF that AJ breaks up before AJ and Cena counter each other until AJ hits a Styles Clash for a near fall that Sami breaks up. Corbin sends Sami and Kevin out of the ring before hitting a huge Deep Six to AJ before AJ quickly rolls out of the ring to avoid being pinned. Corbin and Ziggler end up in the crowd before Cena hits an AA to AJ through an announce table and Sami and Kevin get back in the ring and exchange strikes until Sami sends Kevin out of the ring. Kevin accidentally superkicks Shane before Sami hits a DDT through the ropes and they get back in the ring and Kevin superkicks Sami before hitting Dolph with a pop-up powerbomb for a near fall that Shane breaks up. Sami hits a Helluva Kick before Shane pulls Sami out of the ring for another near fall, then John hits an AAA onto the ring steps that Corbin brought into the ring for a near fall that Dolph breaks up.
Cena then hits an AA to Dolph before Kevin hits a pop-up powerbomb to Cena and AJ hits the Phenomenal Forearm to Kevin for the pin and the win.
Winner: AJ Styles retains his WWE Championship by defeating Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, John Cena and Baron Corbin when he pins Kevin Owens with the Phenomenal Forearm.
