WWE NXT Results for 1/27/21 Cruiserweight Title Match, Men's & Women's Dusty Classics Continue

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE NXT!

Dusty Classic Second Round Match

Nixon Newell (Tegan Nox) No Longer Appearing At ATTACK! Under The Mistletour

MSK vs Drake Maverick & Killian Dain

MSK double up on Drake for two and chain together high paced offense and tags as Dain is chomping at the bit to enter the match. Dain comes in and throws Drake into Carter before knocking Lee off of the apron before Drake and Dain hit a drop toe hold into a running senton. Dain then suplexes Drake onto Carter before MSK double up on Dain with a flurry of high paced moves before Dain sends Lee through the ropes and out onto the floor as we go to commercial.

We come back to Dain in control of Lee who's now back in the ring before Drake grounds Lee on the mat until he gets the tag to Carter who runs over Drake. Carter hits an enzuigiri into a PK before dropkicking Dain off of the apron before MSK hit their signature assisted moonsault for a near fall that Dain breaks up. MSK then hit Drake with a blockbuster into a spine buster for the pin and the win.

Winner: MSK defeat Drake Maverick and Killian Dain to advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

- Earlier today Pete Dunne dropped Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch off at the arena.

- We get a recap of the progression of the Women's Dusty Classic so far before we get a graphic for a Women's Dusty Classic First Round Match up next as we go to commercial.

- Earlier today number one contender for Santos Escobar's Cruiserweight Championship Curt Stallion is interviewed where he talks about working the Texas independent scene. Curt says that he's going to strap the rocket to his back when he wins the Cruiserweight Championship.

Women's Dusty Classic First Round Match

Aliyah & Jessi Kamea (w/ Robert Stone) vs Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez

Aliyah and Raquel start the match with Raquel swinging Aliyah around before Jessi tags herself in and Raquel locks in a stretch before missing an elbow drop. Jessi dropkicks Raquel before Dakota distracts Jessi and Raquel hits her from behind before Dakota comes in and Jessi slams her before hitting a twisting springboard elbow drop. Aliyah and Jessi double up on Dakota before Aliyah hits a blockbuster for two before hitting a running boot in the corner before Dakota drops her with a boot at ringside. Back in the ring Raquel comes back in and drops Aliyah with kicks before hitting a spinning slam for two before Dakota hits a running boot in the corner for two. Dakota then locks in a cravat before Jessi gets the hot tag and is immediately turned inside by a lariat by Raquel before hitting a chokeslam for the pin and the win.

Winner: Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez defeat Jessi Kamea and Aliyah via pinfall to advance to the next round of the tournament.

- Backstage The Way are interviewed before Austin says KUSHIDA's name and mentions how he has two wins over Johnny before Johnny yells at him and tells him to not even say his name. They then leave before the curtains part and Dexter is standing there as we go to commercial.

- We come back to a video package promo for Scarlett and Karrion Kross.

Tyler Rust (w/ Malcolm Bivens) vs Local Talent

Tyler takes his opponent down onto the mat before they exchange standing switches and run the ropes until Tyler drops his opponent with a right hand. Tyler stomps his opponent and focuses on his arm before Tyler nearly loses off of a back slide before Tyler counters a DDT. Tyler then knocks him out of the air with an uppercut before locking in a double armbar for the verbal submission and the win.

Winner: Tyler Rust defeats a local performer via verbal submission.

- We get a video package promo by KUSHIDA before he and Leon Ruff take on the Grizzled Young Veterans up next as we go to commercial.

- We come back to a backstage interview with Finn Bälor before Kyle O'Reilly shows up and they face off before exchanging words ahead of their match against the Kings of NXT.

Dusty Classic Second Round Match

Grizzled Young Veterans vs KUSHIDA & Leon Ruff

Zack and KUSHIDA start the match off by grappling on the mat before James comes in and drops KUSHIDA before KUSHIDA and Leon hit James with a double dropkick for two. Leon focuses on the right arm of James before hitting a head scissors into a front face lock before James comes back and knocks KUSHIDA off of the apron. Leon then hits a springboard cutter for a near fall as we go to commercial.

We come back to Leon in control of James before James knocks Leon out of the ring and GYV hit their signature backbreaker diving knee drop at ringside. Leon comes back with a neckbreaker and gets the hot tag to KUSHIDA who comes in and drops James repeatedly before hitting a cartwheel dropkick. KUSHIDA hits a running dropkick before James backs KUSHIDA into the corner and Zack comes in and gets rocked with a discus forearm. KUSHIDA locks in an octopus stretch before GYV hit a Doomsday Device for a near fall before KUSHIDA hits a double springboard back elbow. Leon comes in and hits a missile dropkick into a suicide dive before hitting a cannonball to the other side of the ring.

Leon then misses a Swanton Bomb before James knocks KUSHIDA off of the apron and GYV finish Leon with A Ticket to Mayhem for the pin and the win.

Winner: Grizzled Young Veterans defeat KUSHIDA and Leon Ruff via pinfall to advance to the next round of the tournament.

- After the match The Way attack Leon and KUSHIDA before Dexter Lumis scares them off with just a stare.

- Backstage Curt Stallion tells William Regal that he's been attacked by Legado Del Fantasma as we go to commercial.

- Backstage Legado Del Fantasma are interviewed backstage where they say that they had nothing to do with the attack on Curt Stallion. William Regal then barges in and reprimands the group before saying that Santos will defend his title against Curt next week and he had better not get hurt again. Santos then checks his gym bag and finds a tarot card before he laughs it off and says tick tock before he, Raul, and Joaquin leave the locker room.

- Toni Storm comes out to the ring and cuts a promo on Io Shirai after she attacked her last week and cost her her Dusty Classic match before Io Shirai comes out to the ring. Io says that she'll right Toni anywhere and that she doesn't like her before they brawl and Io sends Toni out of the ring before Mercedes Martinez attacks Io. Toni then takes out Mercedes before hitting Io with a series of running hip attacks in the corner before holding up the NXT Women's Championship.

- Isaiah Scott is interviewed backstage where he talks about Bronson Reed ahead of their match up next as we go to commercial.

- We come back to a video package promo by Imperium.

- We get a backstage interview with Roderick Strong and Adam Cole of the Undisputed Era ahead of their Dusty Classic match against Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher.

Isaiah Scott vs Bronson Reed

Reed drives Scott into the corner before Scott tries to beat Reed down and gets beat down himself before Reed sends Scott out of the ring. Reed sends Scott end over end onto the apron before he falls onto the floor and Reed hits a suicide dive as we go to commercial.

We come back to Isaiah in control back in the ring as we see that he sent Reed into the post during the break before digging body shots to the midsection of Reed. Isaiah hits a rolling flat liner before Reed runs Isaiah over and hits a senton into a DVD for a near fall. The shoulder of Reed gives out when he goes for a chokeslam before he boots Isaiah and Isaiah hits a kick to Reed on the top rope before hitting a diving hammer lock slam. Isaiah then hits a 450 splash for a near fall before Reed headbutts Isaiah and clotheslines him before hitting the Tsunami Splash for the pin and the win.

Winner: Bronson Reed defeats Isaiah Scott via pinfall.

- We get a promo by Tommaso and Timothy ahead of their facing UE in the Dusty Classic next week.

- We get a graphic for the aforementioned match and Lucha House Party versus Legado Del Fantasma in two Dusty Classic matches on next week's show.

The Kings of NXT vs Finn Bälor & Kyle O'Reilly

Finn and Oney kick things off with Finn dropping Oney and hitting a deep arm drag before tagging in Kyle before Oney tags in Danny. Kyle locks in a standing side headlock before dropping Danny with a shoulder block before hitting a deep arm drag into a straight armbar. Danny gets to his feet and locks in a headlock before backing Kyle into the corner and he and Oney double team Kyle before Danny takes him down to the mat. Finn and Kyle then tag in and out before clearing the ring as we go to commercial.

We come back to Finn getting a hot tag and running wild on the Kings before Danny hits a running clothesline in the corner for two before he and Oney double team Finn for two. Finn comes back with a Pele kick and a sling blade gets the hot tag to Kyle who sends Oney out of the ring and Danny repeatedly goes after the injured jaw of Kyle. Danny then goes for a missile dropkick to the face of Kyle before Kyle submits Danny with a knee bar for the win.

Winner: Finn Bälor and Kyle O'Reilly defeat The Kings of NXT via submission.

- Pete Dunne shows up after the match and he, Oney and Danny attack and lay out Finn and Kyle before Roddy and Adam show up and the Kings flee as we go off the air.
