On Monday, May 20, 2024, WWE hosted a new episode of Monday Night Raw on the USA Network.

This week's episode of WWE Raw will feature the continuation of the 2024 WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments. Also, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh challenge World Tag Team Champions The Miz & R-Truth.

  • Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable

WWE Raw - May 20 Results

- Footage rolls of several competitors entering the building before Sami Zayn hit the ring to kick off the show.

- Sami Zayn gives everyone a brief rundown of his history with Chad Gable and Bronson Reed. He promises to retain the Intercontinental Championship on Saturday. Chad Gable interrupts and he's accompanied by the rest of Alpha Academy. He verbally berates Maxxine Dupri, Akira Tozawa, and Otis before promising to become the new WWE Intercontinental champion this Saturday. Zayn asked how long Alpha Academy is going to put up with his crap and says he's ready to fight now.

* Chad Gable def. Sami Zayn

- Backstage, Jackie Redmond attempts to interview Alpha Academy but the interview is quickly interrupted by a ruckus featuring LWO members running backstage to tend to an injured Cruz Del Toro.

* Bron Breakker def. Kale Dixon by way of referee stoppage.

- Breakker absolutely destroys Dixon. He Spears him once and Dixon starts convulsing. Breakker throws Dixon out of the ring and then Spears him again. The referee then stops the match. Dixon gets Speared again after the match. Finally, Breakker puts Dixon's head on the steel stairs and slams a chair on his head. Dixon is finally stretchered out. Backstage, Dixon is being loaded into an ambulance. Adam Pearce throws a fit at Breakker. Breakker says it's his fault for not putting him in the King of the Ring.

* WWE Queen of the Ring Semifinal: Lyra Valkyria def. IYO Sky

- Lyra spoke afterward about being surprised by her victory and hyping the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament.

- Ilja Dragunov cut a promo before he was interrupted by Ricochet who was blindsided by Bron Breakker.

Backstage, we see Sonya Deville return as she introduces herself to Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler. She wants to talk to them but gets snubbed.

* WWE World Tag Team Championships: Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth) (c) def. Judgment Day (JD McDonagh vs. Finn Balor)

- Carlito tries to help Judgment Day. Braun Strowman evened the odds and celebrated with Awesome Truth.

- Liv Morgan punches Lyra Valkyria backstage after Valkyria gets words of praise from Becky Lynch.

- Backstage, Bronson Reed confronts Sami Zayn, telling him he plans on winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship this Saturday. After that, Otis apologizes to Sami Zayn. Zayn tells Otis that he knows he's a good guy.

- Becky Lynch cuts a promo in-ring. Liv Morgan interrupts her. Becky teases Morgan for taking 10 years to find her purpose. Liv Morgan calls Becky Lynch selfish. Becky Lynch says she just wants to give the fans the best show possible. She challenges Morgan to fight her right then and there. Morgan backs out.

- In the Judgment Day hangout, Damian Priest scolds the Judgment Day and tells him that he doesn't even recognize them anymore.

- Xavier Woods is getting checked out by the trainer. He's cleared to compete. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods get excited about the eventual return of their tag team. Kingston is overwhelmed and he's going to go talk to Adam Pearce about future matches for them when Woods is approached by Karrion Kross, who is continuing to try to plant the seeds of dissension between New Day.

* #1 Contenders for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark def. Damage CTRL (Kairi Sane & Dakota Kai), Ivy Nile & Maxxine Dupri, and Kayden Carter & Katana Chance

- Chad Gable is shown talking to the Creed Brothers backstage. Otis appears and reveals that he was apologizing to Sami Zayn. In the background of the shot, Sonya Deville can be seen talking to Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler.
