WWE Smackdown on FOX Results for 8/13/21 John Cena/Roman Reigns Meet Face to Face

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!

- We open tonight's show with John Cena coming out for his face to face with Universal champion Roman Reigns before the champion and Paul Heyman make their way out to the ring as we go to commercial.

- We come back from the break as Roman and Paul enter the ring and Roman faces off with John before the two exchange words and Roman mocks John before John says that Roman's always been protected and that he has to dominate and all John needs is 1,2,3 to make Roman the biggest failure in WWE history.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Apollo Crews (c) (w/ Commander Azeez) vs Shinsuke Nakamura

The two go back and forth before Apollo goes up top and he's distracted by Rick at ringside before the referee ejects both Rick and Azeez from ringside as we go to commercial.

We come back from the break to Shinsuke in control as he drops Apollo and goes up top before Apollo meets him and hits a superplex for two before hitting a sit-out powerbomb for two before going up top and Shinsuke gets his knees up when Apollo goes for a frog splash. Apollo then counters a Kinshasa into an enzuigiri and rolls Shinsuke up for two before Shinsuke hits a falcon arrow for a deep two count before hitting an exploder suplex into a Kinshasa for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Apollo Crews via pinfall to become the new Intercontinental champion.

Street Profits vs Alpha Academy

Chad and Montez start the match off before Otis comes in and Montez rocks him with strikes before Otis hits a front slam and Angelo rocks him with a flying uppercut before Otis hits a fall away slam and drives his shoulder into Angelo's midsection. AA then take turns beating on Angelo in the corner before Angelo sends Chad into Otis before Montez takes out Otis at ringside and Angelo pins Chad for the win.

Winner: Street Profits defeat Alpha Academy via pinfall.

- We go to Seth arguing with people in the production truck as we go to commercial.

- We come back from the break to Seth making his way out to the ring before saying that he's been told that Edge won't be there tonight and he's disappointed because he'd love to put his fist in his face after the lies he said about him last week. Seth then shows a career retrospective for he and Edge before Seth says that Edge and everyone else should be thanking him for everything he's achieved since 2014.

The Mysterios vs Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode

Robert overpowers Rey as the two start the match before Rey hits a head scissors and Dolph distracts Rey before Robert hits a backbreaker into a boot before whipping Rey into the corner and D&R double up on Rey for two before Dom comes in and rolls Dolph up for a near fall. Dolph then hits a Famouser for a near fall before Dom hits an enzuigiri and gets distracted by the Usos on the big screen before Robert gets the blind tag and Dom pins him with a clutch for the win.

Winner: The Mysterios defeat Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler via pinfall.

- We go to the ring for Baron Corbin's last plea where he talks about how he's had to file for bankruptcy and it's the last time he's publicly going to ask for help from anyone before asking every member of the WWE Universe to contribute one thousand dollars. Baron then shows his cell phone with a debit card scanner before he's interrupted by Kevin Owens who tells Baron that everything needs to stop before Baron demands Kevin give him one thousand dollars before Kevin agrees if Baron can beat him in a match. Kevin then says that if Kevin beats him, he stops, he stops begging people for help and help himself before Baron agrees and says that he wouldn't in the situation if Kevin wasn't so cheap before Kevin stuns him as we go to commercial.

Baron Corbin vs Kevin Owens

Baron rolls Kevin up for one before Kevin lays into him with chops and Baron counters a suplex into an inside cradle for two before Kevin hits a clothesline into a senton for two before chopping Baron in the corner and beating him down before Kevin hits a superkick into a cannonball for two. Baron then catches Kevin up top before knocking Kevin off of the apron and down onto the floor before Kevin gets back in at five and Baron rocks him with strikes before Baron back drops Kevin onto the apron and down onto the floor as we go to commercial.

We come back from the break as Kevin counters an attempted superplex by Baron before hitting a swanton bomb for two before Baron hits a chokeslam for a near fall before hitting Deep Six for another near fall before sending Kevin into the post and rolling him up with the ropes for a near fall. Baron then argues with the referee before Kevin gets pins Baron with a sunset flip for the win.

Winner: Kevin Owens defeats Baron Corbin via pinfall.

- After the match Kevin hits Baron with another stunner before celebrating.

- Baron Corbin is interviewed backstage before he runs off with Big E's Money in the Bank briefcase.

- We come back from the break to the contract signing for the Smackdown Women's Championship match at Summerslam between the champion Bianca Belair and the challenger Sasha Banks before they're interrupted by Carmella and Zelina Vega. Sasha signs the contract before Bianca signs it and throws it at Sasha before attacking both Zelina and Carmella before attacking Sasha and beating Zelina down after sending Carmella out of the ring before Sasha hits a back stabber before Carmella and Zelina beat on Bianca. Sasha then tosses Bianca onto the table before locking in the Banks Statement as we go off the air.
