The People's Elbow has become the most electrifying in all of sports entertainment, but it started as a big joke.
The joke ended up getting a big reaction on live events, and the rest is history.
Speaking on High Performance, Triple H gave the origin story of the People's Elbow.
"The Rock does the People's Elbow. It's the silliest move of all time. He runs twice, hits the ropes, drops the worst looking elbow on you. It's not a knock on it. It started as a joke. It started as a place for us on live events and him trying to make The Undertaker laugh and break character. We were all doing dumb stuff, and he did it one night, and it looked really cool, as silly (as it was). Somebody dared him to do it on TV and he did it on TV as a spoof, and the crowd reacted to it. He did it again and they reacted even more. All of a sudden you realize, 'Wow, I'm onto something really wild here,'" he said.
The Rock has influenced the build to WrestleMania, getting John Cena to agree to sell his soul and turn on Cody Rhodes at WWE Elimination Chamber. He has not appeared on WWE TV since WWE Elimination Chamber.
Elsewhere during the interview, Triple H commented on how Vince McMahon wants more control on things as he got older. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
