WWE Smackdown! Live Results for 7/23/19 Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton Announced for Summerslam

Good evening Fight Fans, we hope you had a great day and are ready Smackdown! Live!

-We open the show with a video package for Kevin and Shane before Shane comes out to the ring and talks about the RAW reunion last night and that he was happy to not see Kevin at the show, and accepts his challenge before saying that if Kevin loses to Shane, he'll quit. Shane shows a video from last year where Kevin lost a match to Seth Rollins and subsequently quit. Kevin comes out onto the stage and says that last year was the worst point of career and not who he is today. Kevin says that he's not going to quit and he's going to beat the hell out of Shane before Shane gives Kevin a match against Roman Reigns as we go to commercial.

-Shane meets with Elias and Drew McIntyre backstage before making Drew the special guest referee and Elias the time keeper and Shane the special guest ring announcer.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Apollo Crews

Shinsuke locks in a headlock before Apollo drops him with a shoulder block and hits a jumping elbow drop into a delayed suplex for a quick two count. Apollo then sends Shinsuke out of the ring and hits a moonsault off of the apron as we go to commercial.

Apollo gets a two count as we return to the action before Shinsuke drops him with a whirlwind kick and hits a sliding German suplex Apollo counters the Kinshasa into an Olympic slam for a near fall. Shinsuke then catches Apollo up top and hits him with knees in the corner he counters a standing moonsault into the Kinshasa for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Apollo Crews via pinfall with a Kinshasa.

-Shinsuke attacks Apollo and hits another Kinshasa before leaving as we go to Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville backstage and Mandy tells Sonya that they're getting a Tag Team title match next week.

-We get a promo by Ali in a stairwell before The Miz comes out for Miz TV and introduces his guest Shawn Michaels.We get an extended video package for the RAW Reunion last night before Miz and Shawn talk about Seth and his match against Brock Lesnar at Summerslam before they're interrupted by Dolph Ziggler. Dolph says that he is happy to see Shawn, saying that he used to idolize him before saying that Shawn broke his heart last fall and that he was embarrassing in his return match. Shawn says that he admits it and that he won't disagree with him and he was embarrassed before saying that Dolph is a Shawn Michaels wannabe. Dolph says that Shawn ruined his legacy before Miz tells him to do something and shut up before Dolph hits Miz and Shawn hits Dolph before Dolph superkicks Shawn and leaves as we go to commercial.

Ember Moon vs Charlotte

Charlotte drops Ember with a kick to the midsection and a back elbow before Bayley interrupts them and Ember rolls her up off of the distraction for the pin and the win.

Winner: Ember Moon defeats Charlotte via pinfall.

-After the match Ember tosses Bayley into the ring and Charlotte drops her with a boot before Ember hits both Charlotte and Bayley with The Eclipse as we go to commercial.

-The WWE champion Kofi Kingston comes out to the ring to announce who his challenger for Summerslam, Randy Orton before Randy makes his way out to the ring. Kofi says that they have history together before we get a video recap of the match in which Kofi hit a diving leg drop off of the balcony. Randy says that he was doing Kofi a favor and that he wasn't ready and isn't ready to be a title and that this title reign is a fluke before saying that he didn't have to do anything to get where he got where he did, saying that he just had to be Randy Orton. Randy says that he's the only reason that Kofi got a title shot as he injured Ali and Kofi took his place. Randy then says that Kofi doesn't deserve the title and that he can take it from Kofi whenever he wants before Kofi challenges him to a match at Summerslam which Randy agrees to before leaving, Samoa Joe coming out as Randy goes up the ramp.

Kofi Kingston vs Samoa Joe

Randy sits at ringside as Kofi and Joe exchange wrist locks and Joe takes Kofi down before Kofi kicks him in the face and locks in a hammer lock. Joe overpowers Kofi and slams him to the mat before headbutting him, Kofi dropkicking Joe out of the ring before hitting a tope to the outside and tossing Joe back into the ring before hitting a running forearm in the corner. Joe then hits a snake eyes and a uranage for a near fall as we go to commercial.

Joe is in control as we return to the action until Kofi comes back with a jumping clothesline into a leg drop before hitting a diving forearm. Randy then comes out of nowhere and goes for an RKO, but Kofi is ready for the disqualification.

Winner: Kofi Kingston defeats Samoa Joe via disqualification when Randy Orton interferes.

-After the match Randy RKO's Joe before Kofi hits him with Trouble in Paradise.

-Finn Bálor comes out to the ring and addresses his attack by Bray Wyatt before setting up a match between the two at Summerslam. We then get a taped promo by Bray on the big screen in the style of the Firefly Fun House.

-We get a recap of the various title changes of the 24/7 Championship before Charlotte shows up and demands to be in a match at Summerslam before saying that her opponent will be better than Ember Moon before leaving.

Roman Reigns vs Kevin Owens

They lock up for a clean break before Kevin puts Roman in a side headlock and Roman backs him into the corner for another clean break. Roman then punches Drew and tosses him out of the ring before taking out Elias at ringside.

Winner: No Contest.

-Shane, Elias and Drew then take out both Kevin and Roman before Kevin sends Shane into the barricade before Roman and Kevin take out Elias and Drew with superman punches and superkicks before Roman hits a superman punch to Shane and Kevin a stunner as we go off the air.
