This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown! Live. Tonight we have a great show as in our main event AJ Styles faces Dolph Ziggler ahead of the title match Sunday night at Fastlane. We also have Randy Orton taking on Jinder Mahal, Becky Lynch versus Carmella and much more so be sure to come back here at 8 PM EST for all of the action and stick around after the show for the post show podcast!
-Charlotte and Ruby Riott come out to the ring and talk about their match this Sunday at Fastlane before Bobby Roode comes out to the ring and interrupts them before they leave for some reason as we go to commercial.
Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal
They lock up to start the match before exchanging standing switches, then knock each other down; Jinder with a shoulder block and Randy with a back elbow. Jinder beats Randy down in the corner before he teases an RKO, but Jinder rolls out of the ring as we go to commercial.
-Randy is in control as we come back from commercial until he teases a draping DDT, but Jinder rolls out of the ring, then Randy backdrops the Singh brother onto the announce table before rolling Jinder back into the ring and hitting the draping DDT. Randy then gets distracted by Roode before Jinder sends Randy into Roode and hits the Khallas for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jinder Mahal defeats Randy Orton via pinfall with the Khallas
-We get a video package for the WWE Smackdown! Live Tag Team Championship Match at Fastlane this Sunday night before we have a backstage interview with Shinsuke where he is interrupted by Rusev Day, setting up a match between Shinsuke and Rusev at Fastlane this Sunday night.
Becky Lynch vs Carmella
Carmella is in control early until Becky teases the Disarmer, but Carmella sees it coming and blocks it before Carmella drops Becky with a knee for a quick two count. Carmella sends Becky shoulder first into the ring post for another quick two count before Becky comes back with a heel kick, but it's short lived as Carmella drops her with a boot for a near fall; Becky getting her foot on the bottom rope at the last second. Becky then hits an exploder suplex before locking in the Disarmer and Carmella is forced to tap for the win.
Winner: Becky Lynch defeats Carmella via submission with the Disarmer.
-AJ Styles comes out to the ring and talks about the WWE Championship Six Pack Challenge Match this Sunday night at Fastlane and talks about John Cena and his path to Wrestlemania. AJ then goes on to talk about Shinsuke before he's interrupted by Dolph Ziggler. They then exchange words before setting up their match that was supposed to be the main event tonight for right after we come back from commercial as we go to commercial.
AJ Styles vs Dolph Ziggler
They tease their finishers immediately before grappling and exchanging standing switches until Dolph suplexes AJ for a quick two count. AJ takes Dolph down before Dolph comes back with a dropkick and hits an elbow drop for a quick one count, then puts AJ in a headlock that he fights out of. AJ comes back with a dropkick of his own before hitting a Phenomenal Forearm over the top rope and onto the floor as we go to commercial.
Dolph is in control as we come back from commercial until AJ drops Dolph with a clothesline and hits a basement flying forearm into a running clothesline in the corner. Dolph rakes AJ's eyes before hitting the Famouser for a near fall, then Dolph drops AJ with a forearm out onto the apron before trying to suplex each other until Dolph sends AJ into the ring post as we go to commercial.
We then come back from commercial to Dolph going for a Styles Clash, but AJ counters before Dolph hits a Zig-Zag for a near fall only for Sami and Kevin to come out and attack them forcing the referee to call for the bell.
Winner: No contest due to interference by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
-After the match Shane makes a tag match where AJ, Dolph, Kevin, Sami and Baron will face off in our main event as we go to commercial.
Fatal Five Way Match
They brawl at ringside to start the match before they get in the ring and Baron beats everyone down, then tosses AJ across the ring before Dolph sends Corbin over the top rope and to the floor. Kevin and Sami beat Corbin down before sending him in the ring steps, then get in the ring and beat Dolph and AJ down, making sure to keep Baron out of the ring when he tries to get back in until Baron fights his way back into the ring. Everyone then hits a move as we go to commercial.
They hit a tower of doom as we come back from commercial, then everyone hits a running move in the corner before Sami hits blue thunder bomb for a near fall that AJ breaks up. Dolph hits Sami with a superkick for another near fall before Baron hits a Deep Six for a near fall of his own. AJ then hits a reverse DDT before Sami hits Kevin with the Helluva Kick for the pin and the win.
Winner: Sami Zayn defeats AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens when he pins Kevin via pinfall with a Helluva Kick.
