WWE Smackdown! Live Results 5/23 The Maha Raja Begins His Reign!

This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown! Live! Tonight after making history and becoming WWE World Champion Jinder Mahal looks to have what is being called a Punjabi celebration as well as WWE Smackdown! Live commissioner Shane McMahon has a major announcement for Money in the Bank and much more so be sure to come back here at 8PM EST for all of the action!

-We open the show with Jinder coming to the arena with a police escort, then Shane McMahon comes out to announce that Randy Orton will get his rematch at Money in the Bank which takes place in the hometown of Randy Orton. Shane goes on to announce all of the participants for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match as AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens and last but not least Shinsuke Nakamura comes out to the ring. Kevin gets in the ring and says that he doesn't understand why AJ is in the match and he's not in the match even though he came out to the ring with everyone else. Shane then ends up putting Kevin in the match, Corbin telling Kevin to shut up and that Shane should lower the briefcase now and give it to him. AJ says this is the house he built on him being phenomenal and that he doesn't care who he's in there with, he'll show the world why he's the franchise player when he wins the briefcase.

Sami says he didn't come go Smackdown Live! to watch AJ run victory laps, Corbin saying that he's the Rudy of Smackdown! Live, Sami saying that he has no problem beating him a second time. Kevin tells them to shut up, but Dolph interrupts them and says he actually won money in the bank and he's cashed in before and he'll do it again. Shinsuke introduces himself and says to call him Mr.Money in the Bank before Shane says they'll have a rematch between Corbin and Sami and have AJ and Shinsuke face Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler as we go to commercial.

Becky Lynch & Charlotte vs Natalya & Carmella

Becky and Carmella start it off with Becky taking he down with snap mares and head lock takeovers repeatedly before Carmella drops her with a shoulder block. Becky gets a quick one count off of a back slide, then one off of a sunset flip before Becky dropkicks her out of the ring as we go to commercial.

The match still runs in a tiny corner of the screen, Becky rolling her back in and Natalya tripping her when she runs the ropes, Carmella opting to take the time to play to the crowd before tagging in Natalya. Natalya takes Becky down and locks in a head lock before she gets out of it, Carmella tagging in and stomping on her in the corner. Natalya and Carmella stomp on Becky as Charlotte complains to the referee as we come back from commercial. Becky finally tags in Charlotte who takes out both Natalya and Carmella, hitting a neckbreaker and a boot for a quick two count on Natalya. Natalya hits Charlotte with a release German suplex, but Charlotte is quick to tag in Becky who hits a missile dropkick. Carmella gets tagged in and Becky ends up putting her in the Disarmer for the tap and the win.

Winner: Becky Lynch & Charlotte via submission

 Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin

They lock up to start the match, Corbin backing Sami into the corner before tossing him across the ring, then Sami rolls him up out of nowhere for the pin and the win.

Winner: Sami Zayn via pinfall

-Corbin goes ballistic after the match and attacks Sami before hitting him repeatedly with a chair and beating on him after sending him into the crowd. Corbin carries Sami around before power slamming him into the floor and hitting him with forearms against the barricade before leaving. 

-AJ talks to Shinsuke backstage and they talk about the first time they've ever teamed together, having been enemies in Japan. We then get a segment of the Fashion Files where Shane shows up to their office, the two thinking he wants them to turn in their badges and guns, the two giving him everything except the clothes off of their backs. Shane then says that Tyler will face Jey in a singles match before they take all of their stuff besides their guns and leave as we go to commercial.

-Jinder comes out to the ring for his victory celebration, the ring in an elaborate Punjabi Indian style with various tapestry and carpets in and around the ring. There's various dancers and musicians as he makes his way out to the ring after the Singhs come out first. Jinder says that no matter how much hate the WWE universe gives him that he is the champion and that they boo him because he talks differently. Jinder talks about beating Randy Orton at Backlash and that Randy is on the decline just like America and that's he's already the greatest WWE champion of all time. Jinder then says that he celebrates for his people, the Punjabi and the people of India before cutting a promo in Hindi as we go to commercial.

Jey Uso vs Tyler Breeze

Jey cuts a promo right after the match starts and that they already beat them, then Fandango distracts him, allowing Tyler to roll him up for the pin and the win.

Winner: Tyler Breeze via pinfall

-After the match Jey beats on Fandango while Jimmy chases Tyler around ringside, then they run away up the ramp before cutting a promo on the Usos, saying that they should get a rematch for the WWE Smackdown! Live Tag Team Championship Match before the referee tells the ring announcer that he got confirmation of the title match.

The Fashion Police vs The Usos

Jey turns Tyler inside out with a lariat, then hits a powerslam before tagging in Jimmy, the two stomping and beating on Tyler in the corner as we go to commercial with the match still going in the tiny square in the corner. Jimmy mocks Tyler before putting him in a rear chin lock, Tyler fighting back, but Jimmy backs him into the corner and tags Jey in. Jey puts Tyler in a neck crank and a headlock as we come back from commercial, Tyler getting out, but Jey just throws him down to the mat. Tyler tags in Fandango who drops Jey repeatedly, then dropkicks Jimmy before getting a quick two count on Jey. Jey a new Fandango into the corner before superkicking Tyler out of the ring.

Fandango gets his knees up and cradles Jey when he goes for a splash off of the top rope for a near fall. Jey sets Fandango up on the top rope, but he comes back and knocks him off, hitting a leg drop, but Jimmy splashes him right after for the pin and the win.

Winner: The Usos via pinfall

-Natalya, Carmella, Becky, Tamina and Charlotte come up to Shane and argue for  a title shot, then Shane says they they'll have a Fatal Five Way next week and the winner will face Naomi at Money in the Bank for the WWE Smackdown! Women's Championship. 

Shinsuke Nakamura & AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens & Dolph Ziggler

AJ and Dolph start it off, exchanging head locks before AJ pits Dolph in a cravat he can't get out of for several moments, Dolph countering with a side headlock before AJ dropkicks him repeatedly, then plays to the crowd. Dolph tags in Kevin when he rolls away after AJ takes in Shinsuke, Kevin running his mouth and getting a series of forearms and knees for his troubles before rolling out of the ring as we go to commercial.

Shinsuke is in control as we come back from commercial, hitting Kevin with a series of knees and Good Vibrations before Kevin catches him coming in and knocks him back before turning him inside out with a clothesline. Dolph gets tagged in and runs Shinsuke's face over the ropes before he hits a neckbreaker for a quick two count. Dolph puts Shinsuke in a headlock that he is quick to power out of, but Dolph slams him to the mat by his hair before tagging in Kevin. Kevin plays to the crowd before hitting a snap mare into a reverse chin lock, both Dolph and AJ eager for tags soon after. Shinsuke fights back, but Kevin drops him before backing him into his corner, tagging Dolph back in.

Shinsuke nearly fights his way out, but Dolph picks him up and drives him back into the corner before tagging Kevin back in. Kevin then hits a cannonball for a near fall as Dolph plays to the crowd on the apron as we go to commercial.

Dolph is in control as we come back, quickly tagging in Kevin who stomps on Shinsuke for a quick two count before rubbing his forearm into his face. Kevin tags Dolph back in, then Dolph goes shoulder first into the ring post allowing Shinsuke today AJ in. AJ drops Dolph repeatedly before hitting a sliding forearm for a quick two count, then AJ hits an ushigaroshi for another quick two count. AJ teases a Styles Clash, but Kevin distracts him, Dolph sending him out of the ring before tagging in Kevin who hits a senton and sets him on the apron before kicking him. Kevin puts AJ in another headlock before AJ powers out of it, Kevin hitting a high back body Dropbox for a quick two count.

Kevin stomps on AJ before tagging Dolph back in who sets him on the top rope, but AJ slides out of the back, then hits a sit-out facebuster. AJ tags in Shinsuke who takes out Dolph right after he tags in Kevin, Shinsuke hitting his double running knees in the corner for a quick two count, then drops Kevin with a spinning kick for a near fall that Dolph breaks up. Everyone then does a move before it's just Shinsuke and Kevin left in the ring, then Shinsuke hits the Kinshasa for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura & AJ Styles via pinfall

-Shinsuke and AJ celebrate after the match, the two face to face afterwards as we go off of the air.
