WWE Smackdown! Live Results 6/20 Daniel Bryan Returns to Address Women's Money in the Bank Controversy & More!

This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown! Live! Tonight after a controversial women's money in the bank match, Smackdown! Live general manager Daniel Bryan returns to get to the bottom of Carmella winning the briefcase with the help of James Ellsworth. -We open the show with Daniel Bryan and the women's roster backstage before he leaves to come out to the ring.

Freelance Thursday Night SlamMasters Results (11/21): Kylie Rae, Mike Santana, MxM Collection In Action

-Carmella and James Ellsworth come out, James on the mic as Carmella prances around the ring with her briefcase. James gets the crowd going before Carmella takes the mic and says that her name has been trending world wide on Twitter because of how she won the briefcase. Carmella says she doesn't care what people think about how she won and that she's been overlooked and unappreciated. Carmella says she won the match fair and square, recalling how Kane helped Seth win and how Bray interfered and Sheamus won. Carmella says she earned the contract and that there are no rules to break and that Daniel will have to reinforce what she has said and that there isn't a thing anyone can do about it before they leave.

-We see Daniel looking on backstage as he talks to Charlotte about her neck and Charlotte says it's time for him to act, Daniel saying that it was no disqualification, but Charlotte says that it only pertained to those licensed to be in the match before telling him to do the right thing before leaving as we go to commercial.

-New Day come out as we come back from commercial, showing how the Usos got counted out and retained the WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Championship. New Day say that that ran through the crowd like a coward before the Usos come out to the ring for Jimmy's match against Big-E as we go to commercial.

Jimmy Uso vs Big-E

Jimmy is in control as we come back from commercial, the match having started during the commercial break as we see how Jimmy got the upper hand with the help of Jey. E hits a series of belly to belly suplexes to Jimmy when he gets out of a hold before Jimmy hits a Samoan drop. E hits a uranage when he catches Jimmy coming in and goes for the Big Ending, but Jimmy gets out of the ring. They go to leave, but Kofi stops them and Jimmy gets back in and misses a roundhouse kick before E hits the Big Ending for the pin and the win.

Winner: Big-E via pinfall

-We see Daniel Bryan backstage talking to Shane on the phone before Natalya and Tamina walk up to him and Natalya talks about her cats before Daniel says there will soon be an official decision as he gets back on the phone with Shane as we go to commercial.

-We come back to Lana and Naomi backstage where they talk until Naomi accepts a rematch for next week. We then get a recap of how Jinder retained the WWE World Championship against Randy Orton Sunday night. We go on to have a taped interview segment with Randy Orton where he says he lost control Sunday night before saying that he will destroy Jinder and the Singhs and that he will destroy his entire family.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler

Dolph ducks a kick before they exchange standing switches until Shinsuke rolls back into an armbar that Dolph immediately rolls out of the ring to avoid. Dolph gets a series of quick two counts before they lock up for a clean break, then Shinsuke tells Dolph to bring it. Shinsuke drops Dolph with a series of kicks before putting him in a cravat, then hits a snapmare into a knee drop. Shinsuke hits Good Vibrations and counters a dropkick by Dolph before Dolph sends him shoulder first into the ring post. Dolph dropkicks Shinsuke for a quick two count, then starts stomping on his shoulder before scraping his boot against his face.

Dolph scrapes his face against the top rope before putting Shinsuke in a headlock that he's quick to get out of only for Dolph to kick his knee. Shinsuke then sends Dolph over the top rope and to the floor as we go to commercial..

-They exchange strikes before Shinsuke drops Dolph with a spinning kick as we come back from commercial, Dolph slamming Shinsuke to the mat by his hair afterwards. Shinsuke comes back with a series of kicks before hitting a leg lariat, then hits a knee in the corner. Shinsuke hits the double knees in the corner for a near fall, then knees Dolph repeatedly on the ground before putting on a front headlock. Shinsuke hits a suplex before Dolph gets out of the way of a Kinshasa and kicks the knee before hitting a famouser for a near fall. Dolph misses a superkick, then Shinsuke misses a roundhouse before Shinsuke locks in an armbar, but Dolph pokes his eyes for the break.

Dolph counters a reverse exploder suplex into a Zig Zag for a near fall, then locks in a sleeper before Shinsuke powers out of it and hits a knee to the back of the neck of Dolph. Shinsuke then hits the Kinshasa for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall

-We have Daniel talking to Sami before Daniel says he's booked Sami versus Baron Corbin next week before Becky walks up and says that she doesn't think that anything matters anymore and that there's nothing she can do. Daniel says that it's complicated before Becky asks if doing the right thing is really that complicated as we go to commercial.

-Kevin Owens comes out and talks about how he nearly won the briefcase and that he's still standing before saying that he will give someone from Dayton a chance at his title before announcing that the Kevin Owens New Face of America Open Challenge begins now before AJ Styles comes out to the ramp. AJ says that the only thing better than being champion is beating him for his title, Kevin saying that the challenge is for someone from Dayton before American Alpha come out next. Chad says that he just moved to Dayton this morning and AJ says he knows the place, saying for the referee to bring the bell which the referee does.

Kevin Owens vs Chad Gable WWE United States Championship Match

Gable takes Kevin down immediately before trying to lock in an ankle lock, but he's quick to the ropes for the break as we go to commercial.

Kevin is in control as we come back from commercial until Chad hits a DDT into a moonsault for a near fall. Kevin counters a suplex by sending Chad into the ring post before Kevin gets distracted by AJ at ringside, allowing Gable to hit a German suplex for a near fall. Kevin then hits a pop-up powerbomb for the pin and the win.

Winner: Kevin Owens via pinfall

-Daniel is talking to Mojo and Zack backstage, the duo saying that they deserve a tag team title shot. Daniel says that he'll give them a chance to challenge for the belts next week if they beat the Usos as we go to commercial.

-Daniel comes out to the ring and says it's great to be back before saying that he has to stick to the rule book before having all of the women who were in the money in the bank ladder match this past Sunday come out to the ring. Daniel says that there is no rule about having someone else climb the ladder and unhook the briefcase and that all it says is that the first woman to hold the case is the winner. Daniel goes on to say that someone has never been someone who climbed the ladder, unhooked the briefcase and handed it to someone else. James says that Daniel is soft now that he's become a father and tells him to get it over with before Daniel tells him to shut up and that if he doesn't he'll punch and fire him. All of the women start arguing before Daniel says everyone needs to calm down and that history was made Sunday and that Carmella will be the first woman to have to hand over the briefcase.

Daniel then says that next week there will be another money in the bank ladder match that won't include Carmella before he leaves with the briefcase. The women then team up on Carmella after Daniel leaves as we go to commercial with them leaving her there after Charlotte hits Natural Selection and Becky the Disarmer.

Jinder Mahal vs Luke Harper

They lock up to start the match before Jinder beats on Luke in the corner and whips him across the ring before Luke comes back with a clothesline. Luke then dropkicks Jinder who rolls out of the ring as we go to commercial.

Luke hits a tope to the outside as we come back from commercial, Jinder hitting Luke with a clothesline before rolling him back into the ring for a quick two count. Jinder puts Luke in a headlock before he powers out of it only for Jinder to slam him down and hit him with several knees. Jinder headbutts Luke and hits him with forearms before Luke hits a butterfly suplex. Luke comes back and drops Jinder repeatedly before hitting an elbow in the corner and a senton into a boot for a near fall. Luke hits a spinning uranage before Jinder catches him on the top rope and hits a superplex before Baron comes out to the ring with his briefcase and distracts Jinder. Luke gets a near fall from a roll up before dropping him with a boot, then Jinder hits the Collas after one of the Singhs distracts Luke for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jinder Mahal via pinfall

-Randy Orton comes out after the match and takes out the Singhs before hitting a Thesz press before Jinder rolls out of the ring, then Randy sends him over the barricade before hitting a draping DDT onto the floor. Randy rolls Jinder back into the ring before the Singhs stop Randy from hitting an RKO to Jinder, but he hits both of them with one as Jinder escapes through the crowd as we go off of the air.
