WWE closed out the month of September with a fairly quiet schedule of live events.
The Raw and SmackDown crews each had a single event, but otherwise, the entire main roster had the weekend off. They'll need the break, as most of the main roster embarks across the globe to Australia for Saturday's Super Showdown in Melbourne. Raw's event was headlined by a preview of the six-man tag set for Melbourne, with The Shield taking on Braun Strowman and his "Dogs of War", Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre.
Cesaro used the down time to surprise NXT fans at a live event in Orlando, running in to help Kassius Ohno against The Undisputed Era. This marked the reunion of Cesaro and Ohno, who enjoyed a lengthy and successful run as a tag team called the Kings Of Wrestling. Recently signed Mia Yim also made her debut; Yim has been part of the field in both Mae Young Classic tournaments.
The latest NXT loop also saw Tony Nese in action yet again. Nese, a member of the Cruiserweight division who hasn't wrestled on 205 Live since September 4, has been working NXT live events throughout September and faced Johnny Gargano at the last NXT TV taping.
