Rey Mysterio Returns Against Shinsuke Nakamura At SmackDown 1000 In World Cup Qualifier

Rey Mysterio is back and WWE is wasting no time in delivering a dream match.

Over the weekend, WWE announced that Mysterio would return at SmackDown 1000 on Oct. 16. The company previously teased a dream bout against AJ Styles, but it looks like they are holding off on that match for the time being. Mysterio against Nakamura is a pretty good substitute.

As previously reported, Mysterio signed a new two-year deal with the company in September.

Mysterio has appeared twice on WWE television this year, first at the Royal Rumble and then at the Greatest Royal Rumble. He has no competed in a one-on-one under the WWE banner since 2014. He last appeared on SmackDown on Feb. 18, 2014.
