Rey Mysterio says he was most proud of his son, Dominik Mysterio when Dom turned on his father and became his own man.
Dominik Mysterio was thrown into the deep end of the WWE main roster, feuding with Seth Rollins following his debut during the global pandemic in 2020. Eventually, Dominik would team up with his father and even become the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Still, the younger Mysterio would not find his own identity until turning on his father and Edge at WWE Clash the Castle in 2022.
Since then, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio have remained adversaries. Surprisingly, Rey Mysterio recently told The Schmo that it was in that moment of betrayal that Mysterio felt the most proud of his son as he became his own man.
"The moment he turned on myself and Edge. It’s a moment I don’t like to go back and remember, but the fact that he did what he did, he decided to take his own path, which I’m very understanding about. At the end of the day, don’t cross my path once again because I will whoop his ass," he said.
Dominik Mysterio only recently defeated his father on an episode of Monday Night Raw with the help of Liv Morgan. They remain adversaries, and Rey Mysterio says he would like to compete against his son in a mask versus hair match. Learn more here.
