Ric Flair: Vince McMahon Is My Hero, I Don't Care What He Does

Ric Flair continues to praise Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon retired as WWE CEO in July 2022 amid sexual misconduct and hush money allegations but returned as a member of the board of directors in January to help guide a potential sale of the company. Vince and WWE entered into a transaction agreement with Endeavor on April 3 to sell the company and create a merger with UFC by the end of the year.

Ric Flair, a WWE Hall of Famer, and Joe Rogan, a commentator for the UFC, spoke about the merger on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Rogan noted that when Endeavor bought UFC, they kept things running similarly at the top, leaving Dana White in charge.

Flair: I just can't see Vince taking orders. That will be a strange one for me if someone tried to tell Vince what the hell to do.

Rogan: Who the fuck knows more about wrestling than that guy?

Flair: Nobody

Rogan: When he was getting involved in scandals and there was girls that he paid off. I just wanted to say, duh! Duh! You have an 80-year-old savage who is built like a fucking gladiator. Gee, you think he fucks? You think Vince McMahon is doing that for hee-hees and haw-haws? No, of course he has some floosies on the side.

Flair: He's my hero.

Rogan: He's an animal.

Flair: I judge people by how they treat me and he has treated me like...I've never had anyone treat me with more respect in this business.

Rogan: That's awesome.

Flair: He's a great guy. I don't care what he does. He's my hero.

Rogan: Before him, there was no one of that caliber. There was no one who put together an organization as big as WWF.

Flair: No. He's got balls bigger than fucking Dallas, Texas. He's not easily intimidated.

When it was mentioned that McMahon reportedly returned to running certain aspects of WWE creative, including changing the script on Raw after WrestleMania 39, Flair said, "He just spends all day...he's so invested time-wise and mentally. To me, he's sharp as a tack. He had a chance, took a break from it, but it gave him a chance to look at the product, come back at it, and fix what he thought was right or wrong. To me, he's entitled to do that. He owns it, he built it."

Rogan then went on to recall McMahon blowing out his quads at WWE Royal Rumble 2005. Flair said that they thought he had a heart attack or stroke.
