Big Boom! AJ Doesn’t Think An AEW Title Run Is In His Future, Open To Wrestling Multiple Times A Year

On the February 8, 2023 episode, Ricky Starks failed to pull off the seemingly impossible, as he lost the Garcia-Guevara gauntlet. To start off the series of matches, Starks defeated Angelo Parker by hitting him with his signature spear. Then, Starks quickly stacked up Matt Menard in a pin and scored a quick three count.

Garcia was in the match next. 'Red Death' got a advantage early on in the match, as he jumped Starks from behind when he was distracted with Guevara. Starks seemingly had full control of the match until a fan hit him with a back elbow while leaning over the barricade.

Garcia took advantage of this and rolled Starks in the ring and pinned him for the winning three count. After the match, the fan came in the ring and revealed himself to be Chris Jericho.

As a result of losing the match, Starks will not get the chance to face Chris Jericho.
