Swerve Strickland adds insult to injury.
In recent weeks, Ricochet and Swerve Strickland have crossed paths on multiple occasions. Ricochet has taken shots at Strickland by noting that he failed to win the AEW Continental Classic in 2023, whereas he advanced to the semifinals.
At AEW Worlds End, Ricochet faced AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada in the semifinals. They battled back and forth in a hard-fought match, and Okada emerged victorious when he hit Ricochet with a Rainmaker.
After the bell, Swerve Strickland came to the stage and pointed out that Ricochet had failed, as he said he would win the tournament. Strickland stated that he told Ricochet that he would embarrass him, and that's what he intended to do. After saying that Ricochet talked a lot of mess, Strickland said that he would bring it up. He called for Prince Nana, who came out with a cart full of toilet paper. Nana handed out rolls to fans in the front row.
Swerve told the fans that they should help Ricochet move into 2025 with a clean slate and wish him a happy new year. Strickland encouraged the fans to toss the toilet paper at Ricochet, and they did. Strickland then wished "Trevor" a happy new year.
