Ring Ropes Cost Grayson Waller, Dempsey Beats Walker | NXT Fight Size

Here's your Fight Size update following WWE NXT on January 10, 2023:

- Grayson Waller challenged Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship. During the bout, one of the turnbuckles broke when Breakker was sent crashing into it, but the crew seemingly fixed the issue. But in the closing moments, Waller fell off the top rope as the turnbuckle broke again. He got counted out, and Breakker retained the gold.

- Hank Walker faced Charlie Dempsey and showed off the skills he has learned from Drew Gulak. In the end, Dempsey scored the submission win.

- In the main event, 20 women competed in a battle royal where the winner would earn a shot at the NXT Women's Championship. In the end, the match came down to Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. They eliminated each other at the same time, and both women were declared the winner. WWE then announced that Roxanne Perez will defend the gold against both women at NXT Vengeance Day.

- Shawn Michaels announced that NXT Champion Bron Breakker will defend the title against Grayson Waller in a Steel Cage Mach at NXT Vengeance Day.

- Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) competed in a Gauntlet Match, hoping to earn a title shot. They beat "The Rockers", a team of local competitors, before the New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) came out and stated that they'd have to beat two top teams to get a title shot. Edris Enofe and Malik Blade were the first team up. Pretty Deadly scored the sneaky win by reversing an inside cradle. Kingsto and Woods then announced Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen as their next opponents, but the duo was attacked backstage. Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) then arrived, as they were clearly the attackers, and they defeated Pretty Deadly. The New Day then stared Gallus down after the match.

- The show kicked off with a Andre Chase previewing NXT New Year's Evil for his Chase U students.

- Tony D'Angelo faced Dijak in a high-stakes match, as the winner would earn a shot at the NXT North American Championship. The two foes took the fight to each other as NXT North American Champion Wes Lee watched on at ringside. Despite Channing "Stack" Lorenzo's attempted interference, Dijak scored the win, and he stared Lee down at ringside.

- The Creed Brothers were set to face Indus Sher (Sanga & Veer Mahaan). Sanga showed up by himself, and he distracted the Creeds so that Jinder Mahal could attack them from behind. Jinder then stated that he doesn't fight with respect.

- Julius Creed was fired up after Jinder Mahal's attack, and he made it clear that he wanted revenge. Later in the show, he faced Mahal in a singles match. Late in the bout, a distraction from Sanga helped Mahal clinch the win.

- The Countdown to the New Year reached zero, and Tiffany Stratton made her return. She made it clear that she intends to have a big year in 2023. Stratton also called herself NXT's biggest star and the center of the universe.

- In a promo, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams were hanging out at a diner, and Hayes discussed his win over Apollo Crews. Hayes said the NXT Championship has his name written on it. Williams stated that they need to speak it into existence.

- Lola Vice (Valerie Loureda) debuted, as she could be spotted in a backstage segment.

- Axiom approached Apollo Crews, who was upset following his loss to Carmelo Hayes. Crews pitched the idea of a tag team match where they would face Hayes and Trick Williams.

- A video package hyped up Tyler Bate. The former NXT UK Champion teased his return, which was confirmed for next week.

- In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Dijak discussed his win and made it clear that winning the NXT North American Championship since he returned to NXT.

- NXT Anonymous set their sights on Oro Mensah.

- Stevie Turner announced that she's coming to NXT.

- In a WWE Digital Exclusive, NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez discussed the outcome of the battle royal and stated that it feels like the odds are against her, but she's going to do whatever it takes to win at NXT Vengeance Day.

- In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Gallus commented on their return and made it clear that they're coming for the "big score ".

- In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Jinder Mahal said he aligned with Veer Mahaan and Sanga because he wants to give back, and he wants to show them how to win.
