RJ City wins 'Best Talent Media' at the 2024 Fightful Awards.
City's Hey! (EW) takes home the award for the second year in a row, beating out other nominees like Maven's YouTube channel, WWE 2K24, Effy's podcast, Johnny Gargano's travel vlog, and Becky Lynch's The Man book.
City sent in his own acceptance speech for the award, burying some of the other nominees in the process.
“Hello, this is RJ City and I am accepting the Fightful Award for best Talent Media for the second year in a row, which is means one of two things: either my show got so much better or other talent media continue to get worse. Was Maven even nominated this year? *whisper* I don’t think so *ends whisper*. Who else is in the category, Stevie Richards? “This match sucks and here is why” and then the thumbnail is always like that. What are we doing here, you know? I am the person who brings the scoops, who brings a little integrity, unlike Fightful, unlike Sean Ross Sapp. Who is the guy who broke the story about Rock N Roll Express and the coffee table? It was me! Who is the guy who broke the story that Jim Ross has heat with Danny DeVito? It was me, and you know what I get? I get this (*lifts the trophy*) for the second year in a row. I can’t even tell where the fucking first one is. This is a cumbersome- First of all, this Blue Satin can only be described as perverted. It makes me feel gross, it makes me feel like you are trying to do something to me. Not only that, but we also have Silicon Gel Packets. Is this award going to expire if I leave it out in the sun?! Does it get moldy?! Probably because it’s probably not real glass. All of this is not real so the fact that I am getting an award for this is fucking with my mind. Thank you."
As previously mentioned, RJ City took home the award in 2023. In 2022, the category with split into three sections, with Being The Elite winning Best Talent Vlog, Renee Paquette's Sessions winning Best Podcast, and Jon Moxley's MOX book winning Best Book.
