Rob Gronkowski has called it a career in the NFL.
The 29-year old superstar tight end of the New England Patriots is hanging up his spikes after nearly a decade and three Super Bowl victories in the NFL. He made the announcement Sunday via an Instagram post.
Naturally, rumors and speculation of Gronkowski's next move started, with many suggesting that a WWE run would be a natural fit, and Mike Giardi saying "Gronk" had signed with a TV and movie production company already. Gronkowski helped longtime friend Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33. Rawley commented on his friend's retirement on Twitter.
Congrats to my brother @RobGronkowski on retirement. Best to ever play the position in @NFL history. Proud of your career and even more proud to be your friend.
