Although Van Dam lost the match, many fans have praised his performance in the bout, noting that he doesn't even look close to his age in the ring.

In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Van Dam recalled meeting Perry back in 2001 or 2002 when he was a child before joking that he should have kicked him in the head back then.

“I met him when he was a little kid one time when we were at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, probably 2001, maybe 2002 when I was with WWE. I remember meeting his dad because he was a big star, 90210 was one of the top shows. Luke had Jack with him and he was just a little kid, that was a long time ago. I probably should’ve kicked him in the head back then, I didn’t think about it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Van Dam revealed that his match with Perry had been planned for a while. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
