In his Hall of Fame speech, Rob Van Dam talked a lot about karma and positive energy. Rob also mentioned Sabu, his trainer, rival, mentor, and friend.

Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Rob Van Dam said he would like to see Sabu be honored by WWE but feels that a Hall of Fame induction is more than just your career accomplishments; it's about the representation and the messages that you stand by following your career as well.

“Well, I would love to see Sabu inducted into the Hall of Fame. I feel like on a lot of grounds, he should have been inducted before me. He was my mentor, my trainer, and I had a little text conversation with him and I said how I felt that he should be in there before me. At this point, it's all about individual choices that we made throughout our careers. It's not just about reaching a level of superstardom where people are really going to remember you because you impacted their lives in a positive way. There's a lot more to it than that. You can't walk out every time you're in a good position in the business because you think that the right move is to quit. Even afterward, the message that you represent and that you put out there into the universe, whether it's social media or an interview. Is everything, everything combined. That's the way that karma works and so, the answer, definitely I would like to see Sabu inducted on a legend level. I totally think he deserves it, and I think he would have to do a little bit of repairing on the image tarnishing that he has done.”
