Roderick Strong Shares Where Recent Therapy Segments With Undisputed ERA Came From

Roderick Strong shares how the therapy promos that were running on NXT in recent weeks came about.

After Strong was kidnapped by Dexter Lumis for interfering in the NXT Championship match between Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream. Since he returned, Strong had been dealing with the trauma that came with it and the Undisputed ERA has been trying its best to help out Strong, whether it would be having Kyle O'Reilly dress up as a therapist or exposing Strong to a car trunk.

In an interview with Graham Mirmina of FanSided's Daily DDT, Strong spoke on where those promos came from, saying that the Undisputed ERA has been doing stuff like this for a year.

"The funny thing about that is that we talk about doing stuff like that quite often. It was maybe a year and some change ago that we started to put up weekly or biweekly promos and stuff just goofing off or promoting stuff and just being who we are. The therapy thing was something I tossed out there because I thought it'd be fun. Just the characters' interactions. It's shown a different side of me. It's just so, so fun and with us being able to do something like that and getting the reaction that it did opens the door for us to do more stuff like that. It's fun, man. With those guys, it's always fun and it's so easy. Everything is just so easy. We've been together collectively for over two years, but them over three years and we're just scratching the surface and there's so much fun stuff we're going to be able to do. That's what very unique with us as a group is that we go in there, put on the best match of the night and make you laugh or entertain you in a different manner. It doesn't matter. That's the common goal among all us is just to have fun," Strong said.

One of the ways Undisputed ERA has been trying to help Strong overcome his fears was to have him face Lumis on NXT recently, but that didn't work out too well. Now, Strong will have to confront Lumis whether he likes it or not as he is facing Lumis once more on the Great American Bash in a strap match. The match will be part of the July 1 episode of NXT, which is the first night of the Great American Bash.
