In January 2024, Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit in January 2024 against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. McMahon resigned from TKO/WWE following the lawsuit being filed.

The lawsuit is still currently active.

Roman Reigns worked closely with McMahon for over a decade as the top star in the company almost immediately from his November 2012 debut to McMahon's resignation.

Speaking to Tom Kludt of Vanity Fair, Roman said the allegations from Grant are a "stain on WWE" and "She’s got to live with all these situations that happened and hopefully she’s in a place where she feels comfortable and she’s secure in her own place."

He continued, “It’s embarrassing. That’s stuff you don’t want to hear about. You don’t want your family to hear about."

The profile piece notes that McMahon reached out to Reigns last year to wish him a happy birthday.
