Roman Reigns will be ditching his familiar Shield theme soon enough it would appear.
Reigns has undergone a big transformation since returning at WWE SummerSlam 2020. He has aligned himself with Paul Heyman, taken his place at the head to the table, and won the WWE Universal Championship. In terms of presentation, he showed he didn't have to wear his vest by ditching it to wrestle without a shirt.
However, he has kept The Shield theme despite ties to the group being long gone.
Speaking to Bleacher Report, Roman revealed that WWE is working on a new theme for him, but it takes time to get it right.
"We're working on it. It's not easy because I'm not going to... With this character, it has to be the right vibe. We can't just hire a rapper and check out this guitar riff. It can't be some rock music. The Shield music, I wasn't even really into it back in the day; but over the years, it just started working. You get so used to it that I just time my pace to it. But yeah, it takes some time and it has to be right. In order to move away from something you've had for so long and is so recognizable like the music that I have now, it's got to be perfect. It's taking some time, but we're definitely working on it, so please be patient," he said.
It is unknown when Roman will debut his new theme.
Roman first hinted at the idea of a new theme song in September 2020, which is also when he revealed he would be wrestling shirtless. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
