It was a successful one year anniversary for Ronda Rousey.
In arguably her toughest challenge to date, Rousey managed to defeat Sasha Banks to retain the Raw Women's Title at WWE Royal Rumble. Normally the submission specialist, Rousey needed Piper's Pit and a pinfall to defeat The Legit Boss. Rousey did get a tapout with the armbar earlier in the match but it occurred outside of the ring. Rousey managed to survive the Banks Statement and crisp arm work before coming back for the victory.

After the bout, Banks and Rousey showed mutual respect, shaking hands in the ring and in the aisle. Before she headed to the back, Banks flashed the four fingers at Rousey, a sign of the Horsewomen.
