Vince McMahon wanted Ronda Rousey to act authentic.
At WrestleMania 34, Ronda Rousey made her professional wrestling debut in a tag team match with Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. When she came out to the ring, fans noticed she was smiling and seemed to be reveling in the fact she was performing at WrestleMania. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, she revealed Vince McMahon was the inspiration for her demeanor.
“I usually walk out and I’m all business, but Vince specifically told me to go out and allow myself to feel everything that I was feeling and not hide anything. And not to try and go out and be the tough girl, but to allow myself to smile, to enjoy it because, according to Vince, when I smile the whole world wants to hug me," said Rousey.
Rousey was successful in her professional wrestling debut as her and Angle defeated Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Since that match, she has been placed into two Championship matches including her match against Alexa Bliss at WWE SummerSlam.
