Ronda Rousey Started Watching Wrestling Again With Shayna Baszler

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler used to watch wrestling after mixed-martial-arts training.

In 2013, Ronda Rousey was coach on the UFC reality show The Ultimate Fighter where she met Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke. The three of them were soon living together and that is where Ronda Rousey rediscovered her love of professional wrestling. Rousey told Mirror about how NXT wrestler Baszler showed her wrestling nearly every day.

"At the end of the day, we didn't want to sit around and talk about fighting, we didn't want to watch sparring footage, Shayna (Baszler) would have us, I didn't even know how to operate my own television, I couldn't even put it on, Shayna was the lord of the television and every single night we were watching wrestling. That became our group activity at the end of the day, we would train all day, then run home to all watch wrestling together. It kind of like brought it back into our lives as an escape from all the stresses of everything else. And I really got to almost be reintroduced to the industry," said Rousey.

In the rest of the interview, Rousey discussed her debut in WWE, and her inspirations as a wrestling fan in her childhood.
