Roxanne Perez believes she's ready for Asuka.
Roxanne Perez will battle Asuka on the October 10 episode of NXT in a clash of former NXT Women's Champions. The bout came together thanks to Kiana James, who wanted to throw a challenge at Perez.
Speaking to Booker T on his Hall of Fame podcast, Perez was asked about her clash with Asuka.
"I am so ready. You know, I was thinking about this. Kiana James gave me a big task. I have a big task ahead of me, Asuka, Grand Slam Champion, longest-reigning NXT Women's Champion undefeated in NXT. I think people tend to forget that I'm a prodigy. I'm 'The Prodigy.' I've been grinding since I was 13 years old. I've been perfecting my craft so that one day when I made it to the WWE, I was performing at a mastery level to the likes of Asuka. So I think I'm ready. I think I'm so ready," she said.
This will mark Asuka's first match in NXT since 2019.
