Rusev says fans understand the meaning of Rusev Day.
The popularity of Rusev has been directly correlated to his proclamations of "Rusev Day," It led to t-shirt sales and eventually a WWE United States Championship opportunity at Wrestlemania 34. In an interview with Indian Express, Rusev explained Rusev Day and why fans like it so much.
“Its more than a cool catchphrase. It’s a mentality and it’s celebrating yourself every day. People understand it and they feel the of passion behind it and that is why the amazing response,” said Rusev.
Another thing Rusev said fans understand is what he has to offer as a professional wrestler.
“I’m an artist and I have a lot more to offer in this business. I’m not a one-dimensional character. I feel like the WWE Universe sees that and understands it and they’re behind it right now,” said Rusev.
At Wrestlemania 34, Rusev will take on Randy Orton, Jinder Mahal, and Bobby Roode in a fatal four-way match for Orton's United States Championship. Fightful Wrestling will have live coverage and a recapping podcast for the event.
