Sabu Thought NXT 2300 At The ECW Arena Was Lame As A Nostalgia Event

Sabu thinks NXT has some good wrestlers, but felt that the event that took place at the former ECW Arena fell short as a celebration of ECW nostalgia.

Sabu is one of the mainstay ECW legends who did not appear at NXT 2300 on November 6. Presented at the former ECW arena, that episode of NXT did feature Bubba Ray Dudley, Rob Van Dam, Dawn Marie, Nunzio, and more legendary ECW names.

During a recent interview with Covalent TV, Sabu revealed that he felt the event was lame because you can't do a proper ECW reunion show without him or Sandman. He did, however, praise the wrestlers on NXT.

"I thought it was lame. Even though it's a good show, good wrestlers, it was lame for a nostalgia ECW thing. The building doesn't look the same. It's not the same. It's not really a reunion or a top-notch thing, without me or Sandman. Both of us or one or the other. It's kind of a must, I think," he said, before also saying that Paul Heyman should have been on the show.

Sabu also addressed the fact that when Rhino appeared after the lights went out in the arena, people thought it was going to be him. He would go on to say that he feels he could have done a run-in to save RVD from Wes Lee.

Rob Van Dam commented on the event saying that plans changed for him at the event and he believes he'll be back in NXT one day. Read more here.

Sabu is hoping to have one final match, potentially against Rob Van Dam. Learn more about those plans here.
