Sammy Guevara talks crazy bumps and wanting to be thrown off of the top of Daily's Place.
Sammy Guevara is a daredevil, one of the pillars of AEW. Guevara wants to be known for always giving fans the best show possible, and the way he does that is by taking part in death-defying stunts during his matches.
Sammy recently competed in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match on the March 1 AEW Dynamite. Delivering a Swanton Bomb from a ladder onto Action Andretti, who was on another ladder.
In a recent interview with MuscleManMalcolm for The Sportster, Guevara spoke about always wanting to up the ante in his matches and wanting that Ladder Match to be even more wild. However, all of his desire to put his body on the line night after night is sometimes overruled in favor of the longevity of his career.
Also, Guevara says he was supposed to be thrown off the top of Daily's Place during his match with Matt Hardy at AEW All Out 2020.
"All the time, all the time," Sammy Guevara said when asked if there was ever a spot that he wanted to do that got vetoed. "Really, the ladder match [on the March 1, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite], people thought it was crazy. I wanted it to be a lot crazier, but due to time constraints and whatnot, we had to cut a lot of stuff. There's one thing in the infamous Sammy Guevara vs. Matt Hardy match at All Out [2020], I was actually going to get thrown off the top of Daily's Place that's how the match was going to end. Unfortunately, because of the accident that happened early in the match, we had to go straight to a different finish. I want to go back to Daily's Place just to get thrown off of it one day. One day, you know, a guy can dream."
In that match at AEW All Out, Matt Hardy ended up falling from a scissor lift resulting in an immediate stoppage for the match. Learn more about that incident here.
Elsewhere in this interview, Guevara stated he's not interested in working AEW's house shows in an effort to preserve his career. Read more here.
