L.A.X. give their favorite matches from the well-reviewed PPV.
On July 22nd IMPACT Wrestling presented their 'Slammiversary XVI' PPV live from the 'Rebel Entertainment Complex' in Toronto. With eight matches on the card and the show running over two hours, it was deemed a success by those who viewed it and IMPACT themselves. The PPV was praised on social media and dubbed as a "resurgence" of sorts for IMPACT.
Two of the men who played a role in reeling in those high praises are the current IMPACT World Tag Team Champions L.A.X. (Santana & Ortiz). Santana and Ortiz defended their L.A.X. name and the titles against the OGz Hernandez and Homicide in a hard-fought bout that saw the newer version of L.A.X. pull out the victory. The war is not over between the two sides of L.A.X. but Santana and Ortiz took a brief break from the war to speak with SportsKeeda and both men shared their favorite matches that occurred at 'Slammiversary XVI'.
Santana: "Sami and Pentagon was a great match that we saw. Every match at Slammiversary had its place and they delivered what it needed to deliver, so, that's a real tough question. The whole show, top to bottom was amazing. I got to watch it back a few days after when I got home. Yeah, that's a tough one." He said.
Ortiz: "For me, I'd say the Fenix, Johnny Impact, Petey and Ishimori match. That's the style of wrestling I watch. Just the high impact, crazy, innovative style of wrestling." Ortiz said. "So just for me, based on the kind of wrestling fan that I am, that's the match that stood out for me. Those are the type of matches I like to do. Those are the type of matches I like to watch. Not taking away from anyone at all. Like I said Penta versus Sami was dope. No matter what I feel about oVe, they definitely went out there and killed it. To go off on what Santana was saying, everyone put in their all. I'm a fan of Su Yung, I just love her character. Just the face paint and the facials are so, so dope."
The IMPACT World Tag Team Champions had different answers but they are on the same page on IMPACT TV. They will also have to be on the same page come this October as it was announced that L.A.X. will be taking on the current IWGP Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks on Chris Jericho's cruise.
