At AEW Revolution, six men competed to grab a literal brass ring in an effort to earn an AEW TNT Championship match.
Scorpio Sky was able to outwit, outmaneuver, and outlast Lance Archer, Penta El Zero M, Ethan Page, Cody Rhodes, and Max Caster in bout, breaking the glass ceiling and grabbing the brass ring. The brass ring was subject to many jokes on social media, with many fans comparing it to a Sonic ring.
Speaking on his Wrestling with the Week podcast, Sky saw the jokes, but wants everyone to know that carrying around the ring was no laughing matter.
"People were getting their jokes in about that Sonic ring, but that thing was heavy. It was really heavy. People were like, 'Oh, you gonna take that home?' 'Hell no,' because I'm not going through security. It's legitimately 25 or 30 pounds. It's so heavy. It wasn't even easy to get off the hook because you really had to lift it off. It was not light at all. That will probably be the last people see of that unless they do another Face of the Revolution match," he said.
Sky is set to challenge Darby Allin for the AEW TNT Championship on the March 10 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
