Scotty 2 Hotty (Scott Garland) comments on his philosophy as a producer.
Scotty 2 Hotty worked as a trainer and producer at NXT from 2016 until 2021 when he was granted his release. Scotty would return to the independent scene to continue his in-ring career, and also join AEW as a producer/coach in 2023.
Appearing on AEW Unrestricted, Scotty gave his philosophy when it comes to coaching and producing.
"Coaching and producing, I always say the biggest part of it is creating relationships with your talent. You can’t start giving critiques or advice until you can, but I think you need that relationship first, you need their trust. You need them to realize that you’re not just some old guy going, ‘You can’t do that because that’s not how we used to do it’, and talking to them that way. You have to have that relationship and let them realize or make them realize that we’re all striving for the same goals and that’s to get bigger and better," he said.
Scotty wrestled for AEW in a dark match ahead of the December 27 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Elsewhere during the interview, Scotty discussed potentially wrestling more in AEW. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
