Serena Deeb: Tony Khan Sent Me To His Personal Doctor For My Knee Injury

AEW took good care of Serena Deeb during her injury.

In July, Deeb noted that she had been working through a knee injury, missing ring time from February to May and then July to October. Deeb would eventually get surgery on her knee.

Speaking to the Washington Post, Deeb revealed that AEW provided "next level" care and that Tony Khan sent her to his personal doctor.

“A lot of us say this to each other every week, we literally work at the best company in the world,” she says, pointing to the wealth of resources — for physical or mental health, for personal needs — that AEW offers. “You never feel like, ‘I can’t go to anybody.’ There are other companies where that feeling is overwhelming. They take care of people as human beings and I think that’s what makes them different.”

Deeb has been back in full force since October, competing in a series of matches against Hikaru Shida. The rivalry continued on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite with Deeb taking out the knee of Shida before their contest, forcing a referee stoppage in the match, and then continuing her assault after the bout.
