Roman Reigns' Royal Rumble opponent has been announced.
The January 7 episode of SmackDown began with Brock Lesnar challenging Roman Reigns to a Champion vs. Champion match. The Tribal Chief declined, however, saying he likes the idea, but it's not his idea. According to Roman, he's the only one who makes those types of decisions on SmackDown.
Later in the night, Adam Pearce revealed that he had been tasked with finding Roman's next challenger and Royal Rumble opponent. He told Reigns about it, but the Universal Champion didn't care to find out who it was, saying that he has already smashed everyone on the roster.
After the main event concluded, Reigns was shown in his locker room when someone knocked on his door. He stood up to welcome them in and it was revealed to be Seth Rollins. Roman's former Shield member laughed maniacally while the show went off the air.

Rollins had a chance to challenge Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble but lost a fatal four-way match on Raw to Bobby Lashley.
