Earlier today, Jimmy Jacobs sent out a tweet where he defended the WWE writing amid sinking Raw ratings. Jacobs tweeted, "Writing a 3 hour wrestling tv show every single week is fuckin hard." Jacobs, a former WWE writer for over two years, defended his stance in a series of follow-up tweets.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins weighed in, agreeing with Jacobs and giving credit to the writing staff for their hard work.
That’s the one thing I don’t think people understand. 5 hours of live TV every week. EVERY WEEK. Add in all the extraneous variables that affect the final outcome....and it’s a modern miracle that the shows come together as well as they do.

Rollins opened Monday's episode of Raw with a "shoot" promo calling out Baron Corbin for allowing Raw to "suck" over the past couple of weeks. Rollins said in the promo, "talent support, the morale backstage, the fan support and the TV ratings are all at an all-time low."
In an interview this week with The Show on Rock 105.3, Rollins criticized the WWE writers for "missing storytelling points" in regards to the Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair feud.
This past Monday's episode of Raw set another all-time viewership low as 2.19 million fans tuned in to see the show.
