Shad Gaspard will be honored.
"Da Pope" Elijah Burke announced that eight men will compete in the Inaugural Shad Gaspard Memorial Cup on April 20. The Memorial Cup is in conjunction with the Love Alive Charity and is being done with the permission of Shad's widow Siliana.

Shad passed away in May 2020. He was swimming with his 10-year-old son when things became rough and lifeguards rushed to save them. Shad directed lifeguards to save his son before him. Fortunately, his son was saved but Shad was pulled under by the current.
