Shawn Michaels Says There's 'More To Come' From Apollo Crews In NXT After His Loss At Deadline 2022

Shawn Michaels has no intention of letting the NXT brand lose Apollo Crews right now.

At NXT Deadline, Apollo Crews came up short in his effort to wrestle away the WWE NXT Championship from Bron Breakker. Seeing as Apollo is a former WWE Intercontinental and United States Champion, some fans wondered if this loss would be the end for Apollo on NXT for the foreseeable future.

Shawn Michaels says that is not the case as he feels Crews still has a lot of experience and wisdom to impart to the NXT crew's young members.

HBK spoke about future plans for Apollo Crews on WWE NXT during a media call following NXT Deadline.

"I have no intention of letting him go anywhere," Shawn joked when asked by WrestlingInc's Nick Hausman if Deadline was the end of the road for Crews on NXT. "Again, I don't make the main roster decisions, I can say that much for now. We love him here in NXT. We have absolute plans for Apollo going forward. He fell short tonight from an NXT Championship situation but we have more to come for him from him in NXT. I'll say this. Look, Apollo brings us a great deal of experience, and that's something that we try to hold on to here for as long as we possibly can. Obviously, being out there with Bron [Breakker] is beneficial to us in Bron's development, but we feel like Apollo has a lot more knowledge and experience to help a number of other people here. So we'd love to continue to keep him here for as long as we can and get his experience out there with as many of our young talent as we can."

NXT Deadline also saw the crowning of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, The New Day, as the new Tag Team Champions of the third brand. Shawn Michaels is hoping to keep them around until at least NXT Vengeance Day but nothing is currently set in stone. Learn more here.
