Shawn Michaels comments on the Judgment Day coming to NXT.
In recent weeks, the Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Finn Balor, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley). Balor attacked Seth Rollins on the June 20 episode. The following week, Ripley appeared and warned NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes not to mess with the group. The entire stable came to NXT on the July 11 episode, where Priest and Balor beat Hayes and Trick Williams. Mysterio also challenged NXT North American Champion Wes Lee to a match, which was announced for the July 18 episode.
Speaking with Riju Dasgupta for Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Michaels noted that he and the NXT team were thrilled to have the Judgment Day on the brand. He teased that he wasn't sure how long the group would be sticking around, and he suggested that Mysterio's match with Lee could affect NXT Great American Bash.
"Obviously we’re thrilled to have Rhea and Dom and Judgment Day as a whole coming through NXT, and who knows how much they’ll be here in the near future? It certainly looks like Dom is at the very least gonna be here next week along with Rhea to receive an NXT North American Championship match from Wes Lee. We’ll see what kind of ramifications that has on our Great American Bash on July 30," Michaels said.
Michaels subsequently emphasized he was excited about what the Judgment Day brings to NXT, and he noted that they were "lingering around" for a little while. He again looked forward to Mysterio's match with Lee and its potential impact on NXT Great American Bash.
"We’re absolutely excited about Judgment Day, what they bring here to NXT and the fact that they’re at least lingering around here for a little while. Very excited to see what happens next week in the North American Championship [match] as Wes Lee defends against ‘Dirty’ Dom, and we’ll see what that brings forward from an impact on Great American Bash," Michaels said.
